In class, we pitched our opening sequence idea, which included: audience research, locations, characters, costume, sound track, and influences.
Good points:
- Good idea
- Nice idea for title and font
- Good influences
Bad points:
- Audience research sample was too small
- Questionnaire should have been added
- Photos of our reccie trips needed to be added
- Opening sequence needed more detail, specifically shot-by-shot information
Our presentation will be updated, and then presented again to the class on 8th March to get our green light.
Draft 2
We again made a pitch to the class, with all of the above improvements made. The one point that came up however, was the fact that our main location being a nice house didn't really fit with the whole idea of what we are trying to create. After some thought, setting the opening sequence entirely in dark and 'scary' locations was decided, with very little linking to a 'safe' location.
I'd agree with the comments made regarding the change of location and I think that setting the "non-hallucination" portion of the film in a location more conventional to horror would be beneficial.
