- Horror films tend to have a lower budget when compared with most thriller films. This means the genre is more accessible and achievable to us.
- Well-trained actors are less necessary as horror films have a lighter focus on characters but rather on the feelings of panic, suspense, etc. incited in the audience.
- We all enjoy horror films so we already have a good experience of the genre and knowledge of its conventions.

Group - Chosen Genre
After much discussion, we have decided to choose psychological horror as our genre. There are a number of reasons for this:

I think that psychological horror is the most realisitic genre to work on, considering that most thriller films have much higher budgets and I think teen films require quite a good script and good actors, which may be more difficult. In that sense, I'd say horror is the most achievable but it still gives us good creative scope.
ReplyDeleteI agree that horror seems to be the most suitable genre, and psychological horror is the ideal sub-genre because it requires little acting skill in order to achieve a very powerful psychological impact in the audiences' minds.
ReplyDeleteThere are a wide range of techniques available to use which are conventional to this sub-genre and the majority of them should be fairly easy to mimic without the need for a high budget.
